Falling for VT State Parks Photo Contest

Vermont State Parks is pleased to announce the 2020 Falling for VT State Parks Photo Contest. We are seeking your best shots of the legendary foliage in VT State Parks!

We are looking for high quality images of Vermont State Parks during the fall season from any year. There are no specific categories for the contest. Photos can feature, but are not limited to, any of the following: portraits of people recreating in parks, scenic views, historic structures, and more.

Prizes

  • 1st - $100 Vermont State Park gift card
  • 2nd – 2021 Season Family Vehicle pass
  • 3rd – 10-punch pass

Please read the guidelines below before entering. All photographs must adhere to these standards. 

Eligibility

The contest is open to the general public, including amateur and professional photographers and current VT Dept. of Forests, Parks, and Recreation staff and volunteers as well. All photos must be taken within a Vermont State Park or State Forest. 

If you are a minor (under 18 years of age) you must obtain permission from your parent or legal guardian to enter and your parent or legal guardian must co-submit this entry form. 

All photos must be original and solely created by the submitting entrant. Entries that cannot be verified for authenticity (including missing, incomplete or incorrect contact information on the entry form) will result in disqualification of the entry. If a photo features actions or behaviors that are counter to state park policies and rules, these photos will be disqualified. 

Deadlines

  • All photos must be submitted by 9pm October 11th, 2020 for consideration. 
  • The voting period will be from 12:00pm October 14th to 9pm October 18th, 2020. 
  • Winners will be announced as soon as practicable following the close of voting.

Photo Submission Rules

  • Each entrant may submit up to 3 photos. 
  • Photos should be a minimum 2000px on longest side, no larger than 10MB.
  • Only PNG, JPG, JPEG files are supported.

By submitting your work, you confirm that any individuals depicted have consented to being photographed and to the submission of their image to this contest. Additionally, you give Vermont State Parks permission to share your work for educational, informational, and promotional purposes in printed or online materials. Photos used in published materials will credit the photographer unless otherwise requested by the entrant.

Judging 

Finalists from the pool of entries will be posted to Survey Monkey for voting. 


Voting will take place from 12:00pm October 12 to 9pm October 18, 2020. Winners will be announced as soon as practicable following the close of voting.  If for any reason the contest is not capable of being conducted as planned, including any causes beyond the control of the administers of the contest, reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the contest without notice to the entrants and retain all photo entries.
