“Pints for Parks” returns to honor & support Vermont State Parks’ 100th Anniversary at Camp Plymouth

"
Brewing up adventure” has long been the motto for Whetstone Beer Co., and that spirit of adventure continues with Whetstone Beer’s recent acquisition by North Chair Brewing, LLC. The new ownership is excited to continue the Pints for Parks project, a partnership benefiting Vermont State Parks through Vermont Parks Forever, the foundation for Vermont State Parks. Pints for Parks kicks off the 100th Anniversary of Vermont State Parks at Camp Plymouth State Park on June 29th and 30th where a new release will be available, the Golden Hour Helles Lager, both on draught and in special edition State Parks 100th Anniversary label cans.

Pints for Parks is a collaboration between Whetstone Beer and Vermont State Parks. In years past, Whetstone has focused on a different State Park to create a unique, limited-edition beer celebrating a specific park. This year we are celebrating the entire state parks system given the yearlong nature of the centennial event, and a whole new beer has been brewed up to celebrate the occasion.  In addition, Whetstone will donate proceeds from all Pints for Parks beer to Vermont State Parks’ partner charity, Vermont Parks Forever.

“We are excited to celebrate the 100th anniversary with Whetstone Beer and to continue the Pints for Parks program. Whether you’re enjoying a day on the shores of Lake Champlain or the majesty of the Green Mountains, our 100th Anniversary is the perfect time to responsibly enjoy the parks,” said State Parks Director Nate McKeen.

The 2024 Pints for Parks launch celebration will take place on June 29th and 30th, from 12 pm to 5 pm at Camp Plymouth State Park: 2008 Scout Camp Road, Plymouth, VT 05149, with the release of our all-new Golden Hour Helles Lager, inspired by the beauty and majesty of Vermont’s State Parks.

When asked why he thought the Golden Hour Helles Lager was the perfect beer to release at Camp Plymouth in support of our State Parks, Brewery Production Consultant Matt Stinchfield stated: “I’ve always joked that helles, German for light-colored, might as well be hell yes! because of the style’s extraordinary balance and drinkability. At Camp Plymouth on a summer day you could be grilling and chilling, cooling off in Echo Lake, or even panning for gold in Buffalo Brook. Celebrate all that fun with a cold pint of Hell Yes! Oops, I mean our refreshing Golden Hour Helles Lager.

“We are grateful for this fun and creative partnership that will showcase Vermont’s beautiful state parks and raise awareness of Vermont Parks Forever (VPF), the foundation for Vermont’s state parks,” said Sarah Alberghini Winters, Executive Director, Vermont Parks Forever. “The support from Whetstone Beer Co. will bolster VPF’s efforts to expand nature education in the parks and provide more free entry through the Park Access Fund, a program that is increasing equity in the outdoors. What a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary year! Thanks Whetstone!”
