2011 Parks of the Year Announced!

Camp Plymouth Staff
Each year four parks, representing each geographical region in  Vermont, are presented with the Park of the  Year Award. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge exemplary accomplishments of the parks field staff, as well as for the enhancement of public service – to make the parks a better, more enjoyable place to recreate. Competition is fierce and award recipients receive the right to display the coveted "Park of the Year" banner the following season. This year's winners are Camp Plymouth, Half Moon, Lake Carmi and Maidstone. Congrats to all for your fantastic work!

  1. Congrats to the staff at Maidstone! We have spent the last two weeks of summer at the park every year for the past 11 years and have seen a dramatic improvement on how the park is run under the tenure of Mark and his staff. Maidstone is a great place and a great natural resource. Our time at the park is the highlight of our summer. Keep up the good work!

  2. Yay! My favorite park, Maidstone, is recognized. We have been camping there every year around the end of July/beginning of August for a week for four years now. Already booked for trip number six next summer and can't wait. Always a highlight of the summer. Congratulations to the Maidstone staff for running such a great park.

  3. Keep up the good work. I tend to go to the parks in my area pretty often but haven't ranged further afield. The four "new" parks will give me an incentive to get out and about a little more. Thanks! Carol

  4. CONGRATULATIONS !! I was fortunate to visit Vermount this year from Texas. Maidstone Park is one of the most beautiful well kept park I've seen. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. A park I wouldn't mind giving some volunteer time. Thank you !

Maidstone is a gorgeous park! My husband and I were honored to have been volunteers there this past summer and loved every minute. So proud that they are Park of the Year! Go Mark!
